About Us
Dodi International School (D.I.S.) is a private educational establishment founded in September 2017 by the Gyau Dodi family. We are located in Tema, Community 5 in a quiet and serene neighbourhood overlooking lush green lands.
D.I.S. follows the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and offers grades from Nursery to Secondary.
Our school year runs on a trimester system from September to June, with English as the language of instruction. Students also learn French and Mandarin as part of the school’s curriculum.
We offer a nurturing environment that promotes student discovery, real world connections and hands-on learning.
With curiosity as the driving factor, we deepen students’ understanding, knowledge and skills in their subject areas so they gain mastery which leads to meaningful application. We focus on developing confidence, good manners, tolerance, and a high work morale to prepare students for success in life beyond our campus.
At D.I.S., we are more than just a school. We are a family of educators, students and families working together to offer each child their unique learning pathway.
History
In 2008, Kofi and Juliana Gyau Dodi broke ground on what would one day become the campus
of Dodi International School. The couple were determined to launch an outstanding educational
institution that would shape the lives and minds of children and equip them with the resolve to
make a significant contribution in the world.
Over the next years, Kofi and Juliana painstakingly set capital aside to further develop the school
project, convinced that that they would use their own funding to bring this dream into a reality.
With newly painted classrooms and a team of teachers, D.I.S. finally opened its doors on
September 26th, 2017 with an enrolment of twenty-five students.
As the school grew, new classes were opened every year. Thanks to the foresight of Kofi and
Juliana, the grace of God, and the dedication and hard work of their team, the school started to
prosper and become what it is today. A new three-classroom annex was completed in September
2021 to keep up with growth on the existing campus.
Today, we are a second home to 450 students attending the Early Years, Primary School and
Lower Secondary. Our daily activities are guided by the values of community, courage, curiosity,
compassion and creativity.
