Position Summary

Dodi International School is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our school kitchen. The Kitchen Assistant will work under the supervision of the Head Cook to ensure that meals are prepared, served, and cleaned up in a hygienic and timely manner. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen that supports the health and wellbeing of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of meals and snacks for students and staff

  • Wash, peel, chop, and portion food items as directed

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and food preparation areas

  • Support in serving meals during breakfast, lunch, and snack times

  • Wash dishes and manage waste disposal according to hygiene standards

  • Follow food safety guidelines and maintain high standards of hygiene at all times

  • Help with receiving, storing, and organizing food deliveries

  • Inform the Head Cook of low stock or spoiled ingredients

  • Assist with special meal requests (e.g. allergies, dietary restrictions) under supervision

  • Perform any other kitchen-related tasks as assigned by the Head Cook or School Administrator

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of Junior High School (JHS) completion; further training in food handling is a plus

  • Prior experience working in a kitchen, cafeteria, or food service setting preferred

  • Basic knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards

  • Physically able to stand for long hours and lift light to moderate kitchen supplies

  • Ability to follow instructions, work quickly, and multitask

  • Friendly, dependable, and committed to teamwork
