We are seeking an experienced and passionate Biology Teacher to join our Secondary School team and help prepare students for success in their IGCSE examinations and beyond.

Job Summary

The Biology Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous lessons to Secondary students (Years 7 -11), using the Cambridge & IGCSE Biology curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Biology, experience teaching at the secondary level, and a passion for inspiring young minds to explore and understand the living world.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Biology lessons aligned with the Cambridge and IGCSE curriculum

• Prepare students thoroughly for IGCSE Biology examinations

• Utilize practical experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based learning to enhance understanding

• Assess, record, and report on student progress regularly

• Differentiate lessons to support diverse learning needs and abilities

• Create a classroom environment that fosters curiosity, collaboration, and independent learning

• Integrate technology and digital tools effectively in teaching and learning

• Provide extra academic support or tutorials where necessary

• Participate in school events, field trips, science fairs, and other enrichment activities

• Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and share best practices

• Maintain a safe and well-organized laboratory space

• Participate in staff development, meetings, and training sessions

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Science Education, or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in Biology at the secondary school level

• Experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE Biology curriculum is highly desirable

• Strong understanding of practical science teaching and laboratory safety

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds

• Competence in using educational technology for teaching and assessment

• Commitment to continuous professional development
