Position Summary

Dodi International School is seeking a passionate and experienced Basketball Coach to lead and develop our school basketball team. The coach will be responsible for organizing training sessions, developing athletes’ skills, instilling teamwork and discipline, and preparing students for competitive play. The ideal candidate will be a strong mentor who values sportsmanship, character-building, and student development on and off the court.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead age-appropriate basketball training sessions for student-athletes

• Teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills including shooting, defense, teamwork, and strategy

• Promote physical fitness, discipline, and respect through positive coaching practices

• Organize and oversee regular practices, friendly matches, and participation in inter-school competitions

• Foster team spirit, leadership, and a healthy competitive mindset

• Ensure student safety during practices and games through proper supervision and injury prevention

• Evaluate individual and team performance and provide constructive feedback

• Collaborate with the PE department and school leadership to align sports goals with student development

• Maintain equipment and ensure facilities are used responsibly

• Serve as a role model for sportsmanship, integrity, and resilience

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of a Diploma or Certification in Physical Education, Sports Coaching, or related field

• Proven coaching experience in basketball at the school or club level (3+ years preferred)

• Strong knowledge of basketball rules, training drills, and competitive strategy

• Ability to motivate, manage, and mentor young athletes

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• First aid training and knowledge of basic sports injury care is an advantage

• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends for games and training as required
