Curriculum Overview

By integrating the strengths of the Montessori and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in our preschool classes, and a customized combination of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) and the Cambridge Primary Curriculum in our primary programme, we have created a rich set of coursework that nurtures our students innate curiosity, develops independence and enables them to explore their potential while learning at their own pace. The daily schedule is further enriched through the inclusion of language studies (Mandarin, Twi and French), drama, art, swimming, music (piano and recorder lessons) and coming soon in the 2018-2019 school year, design thinking classes for kindergarten through primary levels. Extra-curricular activities such as swimming, ballet and Taekwondo for students start at the preschool stage.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The UK-based EYFS is a framework that sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old (Foundation Years). It provides broad direction on developmental goals, safety requirements and key focus areas to guide the educational content of preschools, nurseries and kindergarten classes.

The Montessori Method

The Montessori Method’s focus on fostering each child’s innate ability to learn made it a natural fit for our early years programme, providing the basis for our infant, toddler, preschool and kindergarten curriculum. While it is not carried through our primary programme, we are committed to practicing core aspects of the philosophy in the primary setting whenever possible.
